Science teaching at Argyle is rooted in practical learning situations be they investigations in the school environment including the garden with its pond, at the Royal Institute of Science, the Chelsea Physic Garden, Natural History Museum or the Science Museum. Inquiry, formation of ideas, testing and explanation are encouraged through whole class, group or individual investigations and project work designed to arouse the children’s natural curiosity.

Curriculum

Our Science curriculum enables pupils to look closely at the natural and man made world around them. As they progress through Key Stage 2 pupils will broaden their scientific view of the world and develop a deeper understanding of a wide range of scientific ideas by using different types of scientific enquiry  to answer their own questions, including observing changes over a period of time, noticing patterns, grouping and classifying things, carrying out simple comparative and fair tests, and finding out using secondary sources of information.
